So, as some of you may know, I’ve been on here for a very long time. After losing my account of nearly 6 years to a security change, I had to start this one (BloodyDamnit) and build it from the ground up. I worked.. my fucking ass off. And now, it’s gone. A few hours ago, when trying to delete my side blogs, my entire account got deleted instead. Now, I have to do this all over again. 

So, please. If you enjoy what I do, if you like my work, I literally beg of you to please get the word out. Reblog this so people know where to find me and why my paintings will link to a page that doesnt exist. 

I have created so many fucking friends on this platform and people that I genuinely care about. 

Tumblr has also been my livelihood. I am an artist, this is how I make money and now, I am terrified of what losing my other account can mean. 

Please, Please, Please help.

No but the history behind this picture is really interesting

The reason that everyone always looked miserable in old photos wasn’t that they took too long to take. Once photography became widespread it took only seconds to take a picture.

It was because getting your photo taken was treated the same as getting your portrait painted. A very serious occasion meant so thst your descendants would know that ypu existed and what you looked like.

But one time some British dudes went to china to go on an anthropological expedition, and they met some rural Chinese farmers and decided to take their pictures. Now, these people weren’t exposed to the weird culture of the time around getting your photo taken, so this guy just flashed a big grin during the photo because he was told to strike a pose and that’s the pose he wanted to strike.

I think painted portraits and old photos give us the idea that in general people were just really unhappy because those are the visuals we have. This is so refreshing.

Recently had a repost account on Instagram re-upload these without permission and without bothering to attribute me. They have 17K followers. A number of these followers reposted my pieces to their pages too. None of them knew who made the art, because no links or credit were given (even though I had written “JUNRYOU” on the originals).

I have since reported all reposts, but I am fed up. I am sick of children taking my art and putting it on their page to garner followers/likes/comments for something they didn’t make. So big, nasty watermarks have been slapped on these drawings.

Hopefully someday Instagram will get wise and make a “re-gram” function that redirects people to the original post and keeps likes/etc intact to the OG post…
